Combination of the Week

1-2-Double Jab-Roll-Front Hook to the Body

Hey there, fighters!

This week's combo is all about setting up a devastating body shot. We're starting with a classic 1-2 (jab-straight), adding some irritation with a double jab, then using their reaction to land a knockout blow.

The Breakdown:

  • 1-2: You should have this one down pat by now. Jab with your front hand, followed by a powerful straight punch down the middle with your back hand.

  • Double Jab: Keep that front hand snapping! The double jab can disrupt your opponent's rhythm and create openings. We double jab a lot. We triple jab. We quadruple jab. When in doubt, use your jab!

  • Roll: If they react with an overhand, roll to the same side as your jab. This evades their punch and leaves their body exposed.

  • Front Hook to the Body: Now's your chance! Explode with a front hook aimed at their liver (liver is on the right side). 💥

Life Lessons from the Ring:

This combo isn't just about boxing; it's a metaphor for everyday life. We often start interactions innocently enough (1-2), but then we might say something that triggers a reaction (double jab). Instead of de-escalating, we retaliate with a low blow (liver shot).

Remember, hurting someone, even if they "started it", usually backfires. It creates resentment and escalates conflict. Instead, try to stay calm and collected, even when provoked. The real power comes from self-control and choosing the high road.

Let's train smart and live wiser!
